PAJARI
Update 16.1.2010

Satellite map

Part of the Pajari-family has lived in the village of Miettilä  in Rautjärvi already at 1500´s. Pajaris were farmers in properties numbers 3 and 25. Still parts of both properties belongs to the Pajari-family and who have as the last name Pajari. So this group of houses is called village of Pajari, though officialy it is part of the Miettilä-village. Pajari is on the western coast of Pitkäjärvi. Bellow there is a picture taken from Metsäkylä from the hill called Pentrinta. Behind the lake there is Pajari-village. On the left side there are the property num 25 and on the right side property of num 3.

Bellow is a picture taken from Pajari to Metsäkylä. Metsäkylä was part of Russia and part of Hiitola parrish since 1721. At the same time Pajari was part of Sweden and Rautjärvi, which was at that time a chappel parrish of Ruokolahti. The border did not made any harm for the connections of those villages, because Nuutti Juhonpoika Pajari from Pajari married to Maria Maunontytär Lankinen from Hiitola on Dec 21st 1732. In the catalogue of the married couples of Hiitola is NO mention about states. There is a mention, that the fiancé is from Ruokolahti, though the board had been there over ten years.

Our American and Canadian guests visited July 1st 2006 on the properties of their ancestors in Pajari- village during the last reunion of Pajari´s. Their family moved from there to Hiitola, Ilmee on 1848 to the Jääkallio of Pajari. You can see also that place from the map. The "moving book" was taken on Nov 12th 1848. Bellow there is a picture taken on July,1st 2006. On the right side of the barn of Juha  Pajari there was a house called Laurila. It is on that very same place where there was a house of Matti and Juho Pajari untill 1848.
